DLL & OCX Setup is a straightforward application designed to provide you with an alternative to registering or unregistering DLL files and ActiveX controls using the command prompt. Its main purpose is to automate this process, in order to help you quickly install, remove or update such file types.
For the first time you access the IP camera or DVR/NVR, the Internet Explorer (IE8, 9, 10) need to be installed with ActiveX plugin. The ActiveX plugin can allow browser receive the video streaming from these IP devices. If the installation of ActiveX bar doesn't pop-up, then you need to change three ActiveX controls in your Internet Setting of IE.
The application's interface is simple and clean, only comprising a few buttons for enabling the automatic mode, installing or removing files. There are no other options available, which makes the program very easy to use. Furthermore, beginners might be more comfortable working with a standard interface, rather than the command prompt in order to register DLL and OCX files.
However, a few customers failed. Below is to show you how to install ActiveX Control when you login into IP camera and DVR/NVR through IE browser. ActiveX installing method: Input the IP address or link of IP camera and DVR/NVR in IE to enter into login page(see Figure 1) Click File to download the ActiveX: Figure 1. The REGSVR32 server is used for registering files, but all the work is done for you, so there is no need to write syntax manually for each file. The 'Manual mode' enables you to select the files to register, while the 'Automatic mode' allows the program to automatically detect the DLL or OCX files in the same application directory. In addition to this, it features a silent mode, which means that no message is displayed when the registering process is done.
The Windows system folder is automatically selected and the application can register multiple files, one by one. Practically, it calls for the same functions as REGSVR32 does. It starts by loading the dynamic library or the OCX file, then copies it to the system folder and updates the registry. Removing a file is similar, only that the DllUnregisterServer function is called. The logging section enables you to monitor each program action and displays whether the process is successful or not.
DLL & OCX Setup provides you with an easier and faster method for managing DLLs and ActiveX controls. It comes in handy when you need to update existing modules and libraries or when your system detects that a DLL file is missing, thus preventing you from starting an application.
